Workshops
Expand Your Practice
We welcome all colors of yoga to The Bhaktishop, and here we celebrate both our own teachers’ gifts as well as those of visiting teachers. Bringing you masterful teachers from many disciplines, we aim to unite all seekers everywhere with the truths they seek, one workshop at a time. Please register for workshops early, as they will often sell out. Please do join us, stretching outside your regular yoga practice to invite in new energies and possibilities to the soul of your yoga.
Co-taught by Street Yoga Founder and hometown hero Mark Lilly, with Lisa Mae and Diana, this workshop is for adults who are enduring any of the effects of any form of trauma, whether recent or old, psychic or physical, spiritual or emotional. Maybe it manifests as body pain, chronic low-energy or some other unhealthy fallout from past severe experiences; this workshop can help. By cultivating a loving stillness, we can learn to listen to our body, and find the places where we hold the pain and loss of trauma. Using yoga, guided meditation, and chanting, we will learn more about the patterns of old traumas still affecting us, and the ways in which we hold on to pain. Join us as we learn to shake ourselves loose from the tyranny of old pains and step with love into our beautiful lives!

Poetry and The Nature of Enlightenment: An Evening Satsang with Swami Tripurari and Kirtan Heidi's beloved Teacher! |
Come and gather to listen to an enlightening talk from Swami Tripurari on the topic of Bhakti Yoga, followed by the deeply devotional sounds of musical delight Agni Dev as he sings us all into awakening with a sweetness you will taste long after the last Om vibrates out of you…
About Swami Tripurari:
It is difficult to find someone from the West who understands and can articulate the theory behind an Eastern mystical tradition in our language. It is even more difficult to find a modern mystic. In Swami Tripurari we have both: a traditional mystic who can articulate the teachings of an ancient spiritual tradition. A compelling speaker - to be in his presence is itself a spiritual experience. Swami Tripurari has spent his adult life as a Hindu monastic. Awarded the renounced order (sannyasa) in 1975, Swami has studied under numerous spiritual masters, the principals of whom are Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and Bhakti Raksaka Sridhara Maharaja of the Gaudiya Vedanta lineage. Dubbed “the contemporary voice of Vaishnavism," he is the foremost Western exponent of the Gaudiya Vedanta lineage. Author, poet, and spiritual teacher, Swami has written several books, including Rasa: Love Relationships in Transcendence, Ancient Wisdom for Modern Ignorance, Tattva-sandarbha: Sacred India's Philosophy of Ecstacy, Joy of Self, and Form of Beauty.
Agni Dev was born in Trinidad, West Indies, and moved to New York in his youth. His study of Vedic philosophy led him to discover the devotional music of West Bengal. Having studied with some of India's master Kirtaniyas, Agni Deva developed his musical and spiritual connections. In 1972 he began publicly performing bhajan and kirtan in the traditional Bengali style.

Balancing your Vata: An Ayurvedic Yoga Workshop with Lisa Mae and Nancy Schneider |
Feeling anxious, overworked, dry, over-stimulated? That’s Vata season, the season of the fall and the wind. Learn ways to balance this aspect of your life through ayurvedic herbs and remedies, and practice a sequence of yoga asana that will balance all that crazy energy bouncing around inside. Part Ayurvedic talk with Nancy, part asana class with Lisa Mae, we swear you will leave feeling calmer and more joyful as you slide into holiday season.
About Nancy Schneider:
My Ayurvedic studies formally began in 2006, but my quest for a healthy balanced lifestyle started long before that, with over a decade of yoga, meditation and nutrition exploration and practice. Finally, I found a holistic system of healthcare that resonates with my body and spirit, connecting me to myself, the universe, and All that exists. Each day my life continues to be both humbled and graced by the wondrous healing wisdom of Ayurveda. My academic studies and training include 400+ hrs. at The Kerala Academy of Ayurveda in Seattle, as well as the invaluable 200+hrs. of clinical experience in Pune, India through the International Academy of Ayurveda. Currently, I am practicing as a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner in NE Portland and continue to be a delighted student of life. I am also studying to become a certified Vedic Astrologer, studying with NW Vedic Sciences in Seattle.
